Junior Membership
To join you need an official handicap once you application is received, we will arrange an introductory interview with two junior committee members.
We actively encourage junior academy membership; our PGA Professionals offer junior group and individual tuition. This is an ideal pathway for golfers working towards gaining an official golfing handicap and club membership.

Junior Academy
The Junior Academy coaches around 60 boys and girls from the age of 6 to 17. They can become Junior members of the club when they are nine. The Junior Academy draws its recruits from a wide geographical area, largely through word of mouth, but Royal Mid-Surrey’s assistant professionals also regularly teach pupils from local schools. Ideally, the Academy puts them on course for Junior membership when applicants have to pass an interview on the rules and etiquette of golf and on the history of the club. Junior members have their own room in the clubhouse, with a pool table, television and sitting area.

Robert Rock Tour at Royal Mid-Surrey
The last Robert Rock Tour event at RMS was held in 2024 (RRJT, a non-profit organisation inspiriting junior golf).
68 junior golfers from far and wide took part in competitions on the JH Taylor course, an 18-hole event for juniors with CONGU handicaps and a fun 9-hole event for young players yet to obtain a handicap.
Parents and supporters lining the fairways were joined by Robert Rock (the European Tour professional who famously held off Tiger Woods for victory at the 2012 HSBC Abu Dhabi Championships) and Inci Mehmet (European Tour player and Sky Sports presenter).
Based on the excellent feedback and interest received, Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club will be delighted to host this event again in the future.
