The Professional Shop at Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club, managed by head professional Dean Rodgers and his team, are winners of the Pro Shop of The Year title from Pro Shop Europe Awards for delivering consistently outstanding levels of customer service. We offer custom fitting for clubs, coaching for juniors and adults in our highly regarded academies, and a full range of clothing and golf equipment.
THE PROFESSIONAL TEAM
Dean Rodgers became head professional at Royal Mid-Surrey in 2020 after 14 years at the club, starting as a trainee professional in 2006. Before that, he was a Surrey Scratch Order of Merit winner having achieved a scratch handicap at the age of 15. Since joining Royal Mid-Surrey, he has always aimed to be part of a team delivering the best all-round Pro Shop services to members, guests and visitors alike. He was recognised for his work when winning Pro Shop Europe Awards for best Pro Shop, best assistant professional, plus a junior coaching award. He now leads a world-class team of professionals and staff who collectively receive glowing reports in member surveys and mystery shopper surveys. His aim is to keep developing and upgrading the Pro Shop offering to keep its reputation as the best in the business.

COACHING
Choose from an array of golf lessons, development clinics or join one of the academies to help you to improve all aspects of your game. Whether you are a single figure handicap player or a total beginner looking to take up golf, the Royal Mid-Surrey PGA Professionals can tailor your teaching to help you achieve your personal goals. RMS pros have always worked on the principle that the best way to teach and raise enjoyment of the game is to analyse priorities for the individual golfer and work on those.
RMS GIRLS INITIATIVE
We are proud to offer a fantastic initiative at Royal Mid-Surrey designed to encourage more girls to take up the game of golf. With one of the largest women’s sections in the country, we are committed to developing a strong and sustainable pathway into our junior girls’ section.
Launched in 2025, the initiative was created to help young girls start playing golf, remain engaged with the sport, and ultimately grow our junior girls’ membership. The programme is designed to support girls aged 10 to 17, guiding them from complete beginners through to junior membership at Royal Mid-Surrey.
Alongside high-quality coaching and the development of golfing skills, the initiative places a strong emphasis on the social benefits of the game, helping participants build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging within the Club.
Our Professional Shop runs a fortnightly Academy programme, complemented by enjoyable social events held during the school holidays. The initiative currently offers 20 places, with plans to expand the programme in the future.
