Royal Mid-Surrey was a pioneering champion of women’s golf and has the largest female membership in England, 314 at the latest count. In 2012 the club constitution was changed, replacing the traditional club captain with the men’s captain and ladies’ captain, of equal status.
Royal Mid-Surrey strongly supports the initiative of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club with its Women in Golf Charter aimed at attracting more women to the game.

Inci Mehmet, a member who started as a Junior, became a European Tour Pro.
“The strength of the ladies section at RMS is the best I’ve seen of any club for a multitude of reasons. We all know that a brilliant golf club isn’t only about the golf course itself but more so of what makes it. It’s the people & the environment it lives by that makes me proud and honoured to be a RMS member!”

Bronte Law and Inci Mehmet Golf and Q&A Event
On Friday 6th September 2024 we enjoyed a new and unique event when 40+ members spent time with two of our stars up close and personal with an exhibition round on the JH Taylor followed by a Q&A session.
The idea for the event was prompted by memories of a golden era for elite amateur women’s golf at Royal Mid-Surrey when Alice Spani-Molella was double Surrey County Champion and Inci was rising to stardom as a junior. The pair quickly exchanged course records in the summer of 2016 with Inci shooting 68, Alice beating it with 67, before Inci’s 66 (-7) at the end of the summer set the target and stands firm today. Outstanding golfers such as Ellie Lace, Rafiah Banday, Pavani Kumar, Jocelyn Casey and Amanda Chin have all been under par but not matched the target.
Could Inci or LET tour winner Bronte Law match or beat the course record? Check out the video link to find out!
