“Having lost my arm in a tractor lawnmower accident when I was three I took up golf when I was about 15. One summer my grandad gave me a tube of balls and a PW and I stood at the end of an 80 yard hole that he had mowed in his garden and hit ball after ball. From then on I was hooked, joining RMS as a junior when I was 16.
When I went to Exeter University I started playing more, representing the university in BUCS before being Captain in my final year. Following university I decided I wanted to play competitively in disability golf. In 2022 I played my first EDGA event, managing to win the Ping Open, since then I have played numerous events both in the UK and Europe, winning the Ping Open again 2023.
As I move into the 2024 season, I have multiple EDGA events planned and am proud to be representing RMS at these competitions and am incredibly thankful for the support the club has provided.
My personal plan is to continue to climb the world rankings for golfers with a disability (WR4GD) and see whether I can push myself towards some more of the elite events in the future.
More generally, I endeavour to support and champion the growth disabled golf, given the incredible impact the sport has had on so many people’s lives who I have met through EDGA.”
