It is an unusual coincidence that both the professional and amateur course record holders on the Outer Course at Royal Mid-Surrey are left-handed players. The professional record is held jointly by the left-handed New Zealander Bob Charles and Bernard Gallagher who both shot a gross score of 64 on the same day. This was  the occasion of the Eccentric Club Pro-Am on 11th July 1979. The amateur record is held by Royal Mid-Surrey Artisan Member Pat Cunningham who, in the monthly medal of July 1982 shot a gross score of 62.
		The scorecards pictured opposite were framed in the corridor of the old Clubhouse and were destroyed in fire of March 2001
